BIO BITUMEN -THE ENERGY EFFICIENT, CO2 NEGATIVE, SAFER ASPHALT FROM QM RECYCLED ENERGY (QMRE)
QM Recycled Energy (QMRE) has been appointed the exclusive UK distributor of German company B2 Square’s Bio Bitumen. This is a completely new method of manufacturing asphalt – a safer, more energy efficient and CO2 negative process.
Environmentally Friendly
QMRE is committed to providing environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions to the construction and infrastructure industries.
QMRE recognises and accepts the need to employ eco-friendly and sustainable materials for road construction works. Therefore, our eco-friendly and sustainable bio bitumen is ideally suited to various applications, including Pavements, Highways Surfacing, Motorways Construction, Footpaths, Cycleways, Playgrounds, Car Parks, Driveways, New Roads, Road Resurfacing, Roofing, Household Appliances and the Automotive Industry.
The Bio Bitumen products QMRE supplies are suitable for various road construction work, including asphalt, concrete, and paving stones. Bio bitumen products are cost-effective and provides high-quality solutions for road construction and maintenance.
What is Bio Bitumen?
Bio Bitumen is an asphalt 95% composed of stones, sand and filler with a 5% input of bio bitumen, a synthetic binding agent that is CO2 negative. All constituent materials are cold right up to the asphalt mixing plant. No hot bitumen is present during the entire production process.
Bio Bitumen is made from renewable sources and has a significantly smaller carbon footprint than petroleum-based bitumen.
Bio Bitumen has a wide variety of uses, including road building, roofing, and waterproofing. Bio Bitumen is a feasible alternative to petroleum-based bitumen in these applications.
Process of Making Bio-Bitumen:
Bio Bitumen is a form of bitumen manufactured from organic elements.
This complete rethink of how to create bitumen -a decentralised production method with instant construction and associated logistics and with two cold elements – the powder and the liquid – means Bio Bitumen can be utilised by every country in the world.
Applications of Bio Bitumen:
As Bio Bitumen is a more sustainable alternative to traditional bitumen, it is mostly used in the construction industry.
Pavements: Because of its incredible adhesive characteristics and durability, Bio Bitumen is commonly employed in the construction of pavements.
Highways Surfacing: Bio Bitumen is an excellent material for highway surfacing since it can endure heavy traffic and adverse weather conditions.
Motorways Construction: Bio Bitumen can be used to construct motorways since it produces a hard, resilient surface that can sustain the weight of large vehicles. It is also resistant to cracking and deformation, which contributes to the road’s longevity.
Footpaths: Bio Bitumen is an excellent choice for footpaths as it helps in the construction of a smooth, long-lasting surface that is resistant to wear and tear. It is also slip-resistant, lowering the risk of accidents on the sidewalks.
Cycleways: Bio Bitumen is an ideal material for cycleways since it creates a smooth, easy-to-cycle surface.
Playgrounds: Bio Bitumen can be used in the construction of playgrounds since it provides a safe, non-slip surface that is ideal for children to play on. Since it is resistant to wear and tear, it contributes to the longevity of the playground.
Car Parks, Driveways: Bio Bitumen is also considered an ideal material for the construction of car parks and driveways because of its capacity to provide a strong and even surface that can withstand heavy loads of vehicles. Furthermore, its resistance to cracking and deforming contributes to the prolonged lifespan of the surface.
New Roads: Bio Bitumen can be used to build new roads because it creates a hard resilient surface that can endure heavy traffic and harsh weather conditions.
Road Resurfacing: Bio Bitumen creates a smooth resilient surface that can be put over existing surfaces. Therefore, it is considered an ideal material for road resurfacing. It helps to minimize the cost and time necessary in resurfacing, making it a more environmentally friendly option than typical bitumen.
Roofing: Roofing felt is largely made of modified bitumen. Bio bitumen is admirably suited to this application.
White Goods: Each dishwasher and washing machine contains approximately 800 and 400 grams of bitumen respectively.
Automotive Industry: Each car contains approximately 3 to 5 kgs of bitumen.
Advantages of Bio Bitumen:
Using bio-bitumen instead of regular petroleum-based bitumen has various advantages:
Sustainable: Bio bitumen is generated from renewable materials. This makes it a more environmentally friendly alternative to petroleum-based bitumen, which is derived from limited resources.
Low Carbon Footprint: Because bio bitumen is derived from organic materials that have absorbed carbon dioxide during their development, it often has a lower environmental impact than standard bitumen. Furthermore, the bio-bitumen production process can be optimised to use less energy and emit fewer greenhouse gasses.
Improved environmental performance: Bio-bitumen is less toxic and detrimental to the environment than regular bitumen. It contains fewer heavy metals and other hazardous pollutants.
Versatile: Bio bitumen is versatile and may be utilised in a variety of applications, including road paving, roofing, and waterproofing.
Sustainability: QMRE is dedicated to sustainability and minimising the environmental effect of building projects.
Quality: Bio Bitumen is of the finest quality, giving a long-lasting and robust solution for a variety of applications.
Range Available: Bio bitumen is available in a full range of different viscosity grades, PG grades and various UTI’s with grades and volumes made to measure. Consistent properties at both high and low temperatures are present owing to unique chemistry.
